We believe that clean, healthy skin should be fortified with equally clean and healthy products. All of our products are handmade with natural ingredients, and we're happy to report that we do not animal test and we have no parabens, preservatives or artificial colors.
One of our favorite ingredients, coconut oil has many healthy benefits for the skin. We use only virgin coconut oils, which have not been bleached or treated. Along with an incredible aroma, this oil is amazing at penetrating the skin, sinking in deep, and helping you to alleviate hard dry skin conditions like those unattractive scaly elbows and cracked heels.
Extracted from the nut of the African shea tree, this butter is a very popular ingredient in skincare products due to its healing and moisturizing properties. Soothing and rejuvenating, shea butter has a cumulative effect, which means the more you use it, the better your skin becomes.
Extra Virgin Olive Oil
While it is delicious, the benefits of EVOO extend past vinaigrette. High in Vitamins A and E, this ingredient helps with sun protection, and provides a protective coat of moisture for healthy and supple skin.
Can't say enough about this oil. Thinner than EVOO, it's certainly no slouch in its ability to penetrate the skin. With a high level of Vitamin E, avocado oil can reduce inflammation and itchiness.
Extracted from the seeds of grapes, this oil has natural antiseptic properties and can assist with inflammation and skin repair. It glides well and can be used alone as a very light moisturizer.
Vitamin E Oil
This versatile oil promotes healing and is a strong antioxidant that prevents premature aging. Vitamin E oil isn't best used as a standalone moisturizer due to its texture and stickiness, but when combined with other oils and butters, has a smoother application and supports new skin growth.
Possibly one of the most controversial of our ingredients, this oil comes from a bird. That's right. A bird. But this gentle, hypoallergenic oil has such unsurpassed ability to penetrate the skin that we couldn't help but incorporate it into The Skin I'm In Body Balm. Its inclusion has made The Skin I'm In Balm a wonderful assistance with skin issues, such as eczema and psoriasis. Don't be afraid!
Dead Sea Salts
Salts from the Dead Sea are amazing in scrubs, and contain magnesium, calcium, potassium, chlorides and bromides. Magnesium is important for both combating stress and fluid retention, slowing skin aging and calming the nervous system. Calcium is effective at preventing water retention, increasing circulation. Potassium energizes the body, helps to balance skin moisture and is a crucial mineral to replenish following intense exercise. Bromides act to ease muscle stiffness and relax muscles. Sodium is important for the lymphatic fluid balance (this in turn is important for immune system function).
Raw Cane Sugar
A topical exfoliant, and great for those whose skin is too sensitive for salt. Sugar is a natural humectant and tends to be more hydrating than salt in body scrubs.
They soothe, they are aromatic, they are everything!
